Cause of Injury
Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH)
Diagnosis - Aneurysm
Soon after collapsing in bed with a blinding headache, Mike's aneurysm bursts. He undergoes a craniotomy followed by a specialized surgical procedure to treat brain aneurysms.

Impact to Life
Mike suffered a paralysis on the left side of his body. He required extensive rehabilitation (i.e., speech therapy, cognitive therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy). Mike had difficulty sustaining attention and lacked motivation to initiate simple tasks. Unable to return to work, Mike adjusted to a new normal. Mike's wife and child also had to adapt to a new way of living.
